Judy Erb grew up in New Jersey and always wanted to be a teacher. She used to practice playing school in her basement. She comes from a large family, with many teachers, so this came naturally to her. After graduating from Trenton State College with her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood, she moved to Georgia where there were lots of teaching opportunities as well as family nearby. She loved teaching as much as she thought she would and spent thirty-three years teaching elementary students, some with special needs. She also worked hard to receive both a Masters and a Specialist degree in education.

Judy and her husband Mark have been married since 1989. They retired in 2019 and moved to the North Carolina mountains, a place they have always loved to visit. They have enjoyed having both dogs and cats as pets. They take them with them in their RV as they travel. Judy and Mark have also made it a priority to travel abroad, and some of the places they loved visiting include the Galapagos Islands, Africa, China, Iceland and Norway.
